Two Timer Delay - Any Mods to Increase Fidelity?

Love the idea of two settings.  I'm even OK with the short delay times.  It is noisy, which of course is to be expected with a BBrigade.  Overall it's an OK unit, but I'm a little disappointed with the dullness, the muddiness and overall lack of fidelity.  Has anyone tweaked for a bit more clarity, or any other mods for that matter?
What about stacking another chip - might that offer anything up?  A little longer delay time possibly - or would I need to cascade the two for that?
Love to hear some ideas from the more interpid and experienced in these things than I (which should be just about everybody).  I wanna tweak this thing up - but not without a plan.
