Oh hell yeah,not only does it desolder,I use it to reflow joints as well(just don't use the bulb),it's quick and easy. You can replace the tips on it for about 1.99 too. I can't say enough good things about this tool.

Yea glad to hear it.  It really does a great job of desoldering and "reflowing".  Can't beat the price as well.
