I really like them. Are they really bad for your eyes?

I have used them one build and one mod. They are awesome.

Here is one in my ts9/808

And in my Hot Rod (SHO clone) I built for a buddy. (Boobies)

I have a them on three pedals also, gets pretty bright when they're all on. I know now why they're not commonly used that's for sure.
Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

actually im going to modify a mag light to house 50.
when we go gold mining i use a uv at night to look at the
spot we are digging in. also if it works out, im going to be looking into
building a exposure box and grow light

Supposedly they can be somewhat hazardous.  I like to use them also because I love the way they look, but I put a nice 12k resistor on them so they aren't so bright and I definitely don't spend any time staring directly at them.

If that's growing what I think, I never had great luck with them, think the LED light spectrum is off compared to what you want.

For a grow light you need something like this...

Spectrum is very important when building an LED grow light. Red is good with this type of LED. These are similar to what you would find in the production LED grow lamps and coral aquarium LED lights. Simple two lead LEDs like we use for pedals are just not powerful enough, even the giant ones.

Don't ask how I know  ;)

Guys, grow lights are all well and good, but you get the best taste and smoothness when the produce just grows outside in good soil and sunlight, not the artificial stuff.....  ;)

I had a brief mental reboot, when I noticed you talked about growing product outside...

Over here, the only people I know of who use grow lamps are gangs growing dope (who usually get nailed by a power company suspicious on why their compound is using as much electricity as a big factory...)

That said, my ideal garden if I have to look after it is concrete.

Hydroponics uses these lights too,it's usually smaller herb gardens grown on a "rack" of sorts,so the consumption is negligible. I thought about what Jeffaroo said also, but why would you post that you are growing that? (unless you're from the south, in which case never mind)
