What you need really depends on your goal.

If you want to keep it simple, use the MV-62 module and the 4 presets chip to recall 4 programs.

With the MV-62 module and 8 MV-57's, you can make something like this:

You don't need to use all 9 switches on MV-62

With MV-58B Dev. Board and MV-65 Bank Select chip, you can make something similar to this but with tempo output:

This has gotten my attention for sure! I've been looking at doing something similar with an arduino setup, and still might because I enjoy it so much, but this is an awesome product as the hard stuff is already worked out for you, and the cooler stuff like pot replacement is in there too which is neat (if i understand those modules correctly).

I came up with a way to get your 8 program switches using the Master Control unit.  I put an MV-65 Bank Select chip inside on a little perfboard.  Its a very simple layout.  The I attached 4 stereo jacks which each connect to the 4 dual remote switches (there are no LEDs, the hole is there because I used Molten MIDI 5 boxes to prototype it).

Each jack is for a pair of switches, so if you only want 4 presets per bank, then just use 2 remote switches.

The switches are program 1-8 going left to right.

Also, the 2 middle buttons on the Master Control are now Bank Down and Up.

The main advantages would be more flexibility in your pedalboard setup and that it can be built with off-the-shelf parts.

If it's a winner, I will order right-angle cables rather than the straight ones in the photo.
