A guy in Saskatoon bought this BROKEN on ebay for $600. He brought it to an amp tech in my town who said he could fix it... He did, but since the tech doesn't even play one note of guitar, he called me over to check it out and see if it was working. It was.

Probably gonna cost the guy more than $200 for the reapair, but I bet he could easy get 1000-1200 for it now.

I have a friend that has one an has stopped gigging it because of its value.  I brought over a BYOC divider octave for comparison.  They were very close in sound.  All settings being equal, the original had a touch more low end, but we were able to dial them to be nearly identical.

I am going to build him one so he can have one on his love board and leave the original at home.

Paying $600 for a broken pedal is crazy  :o.

But then again, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained' I guess!

Yeah, I could see why you'd want to do this one.  It's a VERY cool circuit.  Its one of my favorite builds.

The kits a bit pricey, but it does sound very cool.

You can also buy PCBs direct from their shop for $20 a piece.  I have to build a couple of these for friends (and an extra for me), so I am probably going to go that route this time.

Holy Neil Young! That is one beatiful original.

I wonder how the Lowrider compares to the Mutron circuit sound-wise? I had thought about the BYOC kit but the Lowrider appealed to me more in terms of the features.

For old farts like me, I can still recall seeing Paul Dean with Streetheart playing at Jack's in Saskatoon.  Don't recall the tune off the first album but he got a killer live sound using the Mutron Octaver, a homemade strat, and a 50w Hiwatt.  Crazy good sound.

How loud is too loud?  What?

Musitronics from my home state of New Jersey. Great pedals, A friend has a Mutron Flanger, the foot control one thats like a wah. Full bucket brigade if I recall as well.

everything I've ever tried from mutron has sounded fantastic. they really built great stuff.

tried lifting weights once....they were too heavy!
