Yellow Shark LED confusion

Hi all, my first post here.

It seems that with most of Brian's boards, there's a 4k7 resistor in the LED circuit to set the brightness, and as far as I know you can tweak these to taste. The yellow shark seems to have a lot more going on with two diodes and a 1k resistor inline with the LED. Am I misreading something?

Is the 1k adjustable? Or should I jumper where the LED would be and do all the LED wiring off board if I want to use a different value?

You can use a higher value if you want to dim the LED more. With the zener there the voltage to the LED is already limited, hence the smaller value of 1k. Feel free to use 4k7, or whatever you want according to the LED type you choose.

Interesting. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't effect tone at all.
