The more I read this, the more I realize how weird the English language is sometimes...I start wondering why don't we read this "Bu-ee-ld" instead...

Thats is the american interpreteation of the English language.  Over her in England it is said as solderng.

I've noticed people also say the word "decal" differently.

I say De-Cal

Some say Deckel.

In Canada it's "zed".

Do you use "zed" for the number 0, as well? I went to Toronto for work once and they were trying to give me a phone number, and I got really confused.
