Wolfshirt 2n3565?

How do I tell which direction they go in the board? Also, why are there two Ground/9V pads on the board.

The flat side should be the emitter, middle pin is the base, and the other is the collector. Socket them just in case. The first FTM clone I built I put them in backwards and had to flip them.

glad someone else had this question too! I just got my 2n3565's and the flat side does not correspond/line up perfectly to the 3 pins. Was about to install in my pepperspray and deadpool projects and decided to try sockets first just in case.

(new to forum but some might know me from the diystompboxes forum or electro-music)
