Is this a red Llama clone?

Seems similar.  I love the sound of this pedal.  If it's a Red Llama, then I'm building one for sure 8)

Could be. Low parts count. CD4049. Two knobs? And actually, it's likely a "tube sound fuzz" clone, which is what the Red Llama is.

First pedal I ever attempted to build was the Craig Anderton Tube Sound Fuzz from the now legendary Electronic Projects for Musicians.  I built it on perf and my solder joints looked like seagull poop.  That was many years ago.

I think I may have to revisit that circuit now  :)

Yeah I ditched a buffer I was working on years ago in that book.  I should have kept the buffer but I did a really horrible job soldering and it was the size of an EH muff enclosure (for a buffer!)

I remember looking through the projects book and finding nothing that really interested me to design a layout for or build. But maybe I should go back and look again.

I didn't really like the TSF/Llama when I first built it.
