Polytrog - build it with 1/4 watt resistors?

Surprised I haven't seen this question asked yet on the forum. Started to tear into the Polytrog and got as far as resistor one. I realized that the board is set up for 1/8 W resistors. I realize I could go vertical, but that's gonna be a lot of vertical resistors! Wondering if anybody has any experience or insight. Obviously, I could order all the resistors in 1/8 W but that's gonna be a whole big ordering project and my entire inventory is 1/4W.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
John

Nothing wrong with using 1/4W and standing them up. Use what you have, I say.

I don't know if this helps or not... but Boss used to stand up lots of resistors.

This is a DM-2.

There are some more pics here (and text in Japanese): http://www.matsumin.net/diy/bunkai/BOSS_DM-2/index.html

The saying "good enough for rock n roll," rings true ;)

No shame at all.

In theory 1/4w resistors should have less thermal noise but at the voltages we deal with I'd think only bats could tell the difference.
