So i bought my way into the future to see if i like it there.
Also bc it was cheap enough.
Long story short: if i don't need to be near silent or travel in a pocket plane, it loses most of its interest.
It is still impressive for some pedal capture and helpful for the rehearsing guy tired of carrying his weight in gear.
If any interest, i'll post some clips of the real and captured pedal.

Which lead to a question: @madbean, any issue with capturing & sharing madbean pedals?

Of course not. If I had one I'd do the same.

The weird part is that modulation effects and delay are out so it kinda gets limited to distortion.  I have the original Tonex capture box and got some cool caps of my Traynor TS25.  It's a cool tech and I enjoy playing stuff that people upload but haven't had a chance to record anything so it doesn't get used outside of the fun of auditioning other peeps gear.

I like the idea but haven't leaned into using it enough.

Still if you could do generic pedal captures, that would be pretty cool.  Not sure how that would work but a great idea.

How loud is too loud?  What?

I'm still not completely satisified with my capture process. The reamp box level setup is not plug & play. The audio level output is a bit below the guitar level that i was using to test it. As it was humbuckers, i sort of decided not to correct it.
Neural amp modeler and AIDA are both free & opensource capture & modeler.

First capture is the MOAR which i dearly love and should definitely not be forgotten.

You might look at the mod dwarf by mod audio. You get the "best" of both world, you can use aida or nam to capture your amp & pedals and then use programmed modulation and cab sim to get an all in one.
the brother in law with his challenged back traded his pedalboard for the dwarf, only kept the whammy.
Plus, as you can build pedalboard and snapshots within a pedalboard, he found himself focusing on his fingers rather than his feet.
Obviously, looking at his shoes, i found the entire thing a bit sad but to be fair, i did not feel that he sounded any different.

A zendrive, can't remember the name of the board.
Tonex, aida & nam models in the same zip.

By the way, you can do your own capture with Aida & Neural amp modeler, they both provide google colab notebooks.

lars

I wonder where they got the name?

Before it died, I captured my ADA MP1 rack, Plexitone, Plexidrive, Zendrive and HT-Dual pedals into my Mooer Preamp Live.  It can certainly be done.
