PACE make the best bang for buck imo, if your looking for one with a hot end.
~$120 on the bay. I use them at work but am holding out for one to be replaced before I spent the $ on one.
I gambles on a $22 YIHUA 929D-V on AliExpress. It's the solder pump with a hollow iron type design, not as nice as the pace units.
I used it for about an hour straight, after applying some vacuum grease in a few areas, and was pleasantly surprised. Note, it gets very hot, more so than needed, so you have to move fast.
But I sucked a bunch of parts out of an old tascam 4 track with ease and it got everything out clean on the first try 95% of the time.

I like the Solomon solder sucker, around $8.50 @ StewMac, and replacement tips for a dollar each (you'll need some.)  Easy to disassemble and clean if needed.

I bought the Adafruit one when I first read this thread and I have to say, although it's hard to get too worked up about a solder sucker, this one is a total game changer.  I suspect if you put a soft silicone tip on your average sucker it would be a lot better but this one is killer.

The first night I had it I easily removed a few dozen pots from boards in the bin of shame.  Just cuz I could.

I use a solda-pult for tube stuff and a Hakko vacuum desoldering gun for smaller stuff.

Been using the solda-pult for a while, now wondering if I've chosen the wrong path. It's really big for what it does.

This is pretty cool.  I'd read that the trimmer is different between the BOM and the schematic for the Current Lover 2023 and while checking the clock frequency I found it bottomed out at 80kHz instead of 70kHz.  No big deal, I thought, I like the way it sounds.  Close enough.

Wait a minute...close enough??!!!  I have the Adafruit solder sucker now so I can now suck with the best.  No wait, that doesn't sound right.

So not only did I cleanly remove the 10k trimmer and put it back in the parts bin but was able to get nice clean pads (not lifted) and replace it with a 25k trimmer.  The clock freq will easily drop to 70 or lower and the pedal sounds excellent.  5 minute operation including getting all the guts out of and back into an enclosure.
