What's the 27pF cap doing across Q2?  Just for oscillation?  I have all sorts of caps above and below 27pF is the reason I ask.

I don't know, but you can use them in parallel to make 27 or close enough.

A little high end roll off. Doesn't need to be 27pF precisely. A 30pF or 33pF would be fine.

I ended up throwing a 47pF in there. Everything worked, boxed up, and the C100K pot went bad. Worked for like 5 minutes then nothing.  I don't have anymore 9mm pots in that range, but trying a 12mm pot just wired in it worked again. Time to make another order and not from Tayda this time.
