To be clear, this one?

I think a little branding would add some value.  IMO, it should probably be just one logo and consistent, when/if it is used.

I'd like to put this either on the bottom of the pedal or on the side panel below the stomp switch.  What do you think?
On the side below the stomp switch is fine idea.

Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.

A sticker is real easy to slap on the heel of a pedal (i.e., the face perpendicular to the stomp switch). I have two enclosures with hand-painted sunflower artwork and some Ukrainian script drying now. Hopefully get them finished up by midweek.

What's the process going to look like? Is this a raffle situation where people submit proofs of donation as entries? Or do the pedals have a donation amount tied to it? Do we send pictures to Matt and he puts them on the IG page?

madbean

If the consensus agrees, maybe let's have an .ai or .psd of the pfukr logos so anyone who wants can utilize it in their artwork? I'll defer to Matt for the decision on that. My plan is to utilize Chris's tutorial on Tayda UV printing for the small run of pedals I'm going to create for this effort. I am genuinely excited about this and starting to think of more long term efforts I could be involved in.

storyboardist

Here's the AI file, plus a png and svg. Matt especially, but if anyone needs it exported in a different format let me know. I'll be doing some Tayda UV printed enclosures too. Might do some spray paint graphics too if the inspiration comes along, so I think a small sticker's a great idea. Wouldn't mind a larger one for like case (box?) candy for the end buyer/winner too.

Alright, So the second one is the logo so please run with it everyone. I like it because it gives the project some cohesion and free up people to do whatever they like with the artwork.

Stickers that would go on the face of the pedal under the stomp would be great, Bio77 you're a genius. Maybe to fit a 125b by default, what do you guys think? Once again it will add a lot of cohesion to the project, and make it easy to 'rebrand' any old builds you guys might want to donate. I'm going to need a volunteer to help get the stickers done and mailed out though, I'm in Europe, so logistically it doesn't make sense for me to do it. I can definitely chip in to cover the cost though.

I assume stickers will take a couple of weeks, so I'd also like to get some other stuff going in the meantime. Then we can start including them as much as possible once they're ready. I have a few people who have told me they would have stuff by the end of the week, which is great! If you guys could start emailing me some idea of what you are currently planning it would be cool. I'm trying to piece together an idea of how to operate. I will probably have 2-3 auctions going at a time staggered maybe by a day or two each and just keep it going that way as long as we have stuff. If there is more stuff I'll do more.

It's funny, I'm a pretty private guy so I have done a lot of research in the past to lock down my instagram as much as possible, and keep my personal data as private as possible. I realized last night that I'm trying to do the exact opposite  for this ??? I'd like to see if we can get some traction before starting the auctions so I would like anyone willing to send me a 'Builder Profile' that I could post to start getting pedals on the page for people to look at, even if they aren't the pedals going on the block.

The idea would be:
- Write a brief profile about yourself. You could include info about how long you've been doing this, why you want to help out, maybe any interesting facts, favorite kind of effect, favorite pedal, music you like, just whatever you would like to say about yourself. Real names are optional but welcome, maybe use either your first name or instagram names if you have them (I'll be using Matmosphere). They don't have to be long, just a little something to introduce yourself. Let me know if you have a social media profile you would like to link with the profile as well.
- Pictures of pedals you have made, maybe your workspace, maybe your parts drawers,  maybe just a picture of yourself. Whatever you are cool with.
- Pics or teasers for anything you are working on for the project (if you are willing to share) I've gotten a few things in email that look great so I'd love to start getting teasers up with your guys permission.

Email me stuff to pedalsforukraine@gmail.com and I'll start getting it up ASAP.

My personal goal for the next 48 hours is to work up language about how the auctions will be handled and make final decisions about charities. I will post the language for the auctions here first. I'd like to get some other eyes on it and see what you guys think. I'd like to keep it as simple and straightforward as possible.

World Food Kitchen, Doctors Without Borders and The Red Cross are probably going to be the primary three charities. As I mentioned before I'd like to find an organization that specifically helps kids as well.

Because everyone is donating to the cause I also want to open up the charities to ones you guys choose. If you donate a pedal and you would like to donate a specific humanitarian charity and you are willing to vet them and make sure that we would be able to get proof of a donation, then contact me and we will do it!

Lastly for now, I need to take a second to thank all of you. I thought this would probably be a pretty quick small project, but because of everyones generosity it's really starting to look like this is going to be bigger and more sustained for a while. You guys all kick ass, thanks!

matmosphere

I also want to come up with some very simple, brief tagline for the insta page. Maybe something like:

"Make noise, do good, get gear"

Suggestions? Thoughts?

matmosphere

Alright I think I have the charities worked out:

-The World Central Kitchen

https://donate.wck.org/give/236738/#!/donation/checkout

-The USA for UN Relief Agency

https://give.unrefugees.org/220224ukr_emer_d_4983/

-The Ukrainian Red Cross

https://donate.redcrossredcrescent.org/ua/donate/~my-donation

-Doctor's Without Borders

https://donate.doctorswithoutborders.org/secure/monthly?_ga=2.41390690.197048791.1647382644-2041342848.1647382644

I just made small donations to each to make sure everything is verifiable.

Each organization emails either a pdf receipt or just a receipt in the text of the email. In either case I will have the auction winner forward the email with the receipt to me for verification. I'll pass it along to whoever builds the pedal if they want as well.

Next job, work up the text for terms of the auctions. I'll try to share that with you guys tomorrow.

Right now the thing that is taking up my headspace is how to get people following the instagram page. Have about twenty so far but I'd like to get that a lot higher before auctions start. I realized this isn't going to work unless I can get people seeing the post.

If anyone has experience or ideas on that end let me know. A couple of you have offered to give me a builder profile kind of thing which I think will go a long way at starting to get people interested.

I have some friends with a small business who have said it's really effective advertising to boost a post on Facebook or whatever for like $5. I'm guessing the same would be true on Instagram but I don't know if you can do that without having a business account or something. If there's an easy way, I'd be happy to throw $5 or whatever at it. Otherwise, can you get other pages with more visibility to promote the page? Storyboardist, can you give it a share? Can we get stompbox parts to share it? LMS?

@thewintersoldier talks to somebody at stompbox parts. Anybody friendly with Lawrence at LMS? other pedal pages?

Thewintersoldier

I'm promoting and plugging the shit out of it on IG. I sent lots of DMs just asking for a shout out to gain traction. I wasn't initially sure if I would be able to do this in a specific time frame. I decided to rehouse an existing pedal doing a new design and do a no film decal to help get it out there sooner rather than later. I decided to ditch my logo in favor of the pedals for Ukraine logo. I'm gonna spam it on Instagram to get more attention. Hoping to have this done by early next week.

I came up with a couple questions for doing a "Builder's Profile"

If you guys could take just a sec to fill this out and email it to me with 2-3 pictures of either your work, your pedalboard, your rig, your mug (if you want) it would be great. That way I can start getting a little more content up so I can get followers so there are people to bid on stuff.

If have a design you want to tease then include some kind of pic or hint in the text as well.

I will be plugging this to death too on my IG as well. Here's a sneak peak at what I'm putting together. Boards are fab'd, just waiting for them to ship to me, and the enclosure is in Tayda's queue.

It's a klone with relay bypass I'm calling the Cossack. I'd like to do another pedal with simpler graphics, either 3D printed faceplate or some spray paint art, but I'm waiting on inspiration to strike.

David, that looks great! Are you planning on listing that board in the store as well as a way to raise funds?

Yes! The plan is to have a percentage of it's sales go to refugee relief for as long as it's in the store.

Storyboardist, that's awesome!  I was actually planning a similar Klon riff build, but not nearly as nice.  I was just wondering if anybody else went that direction?

dan.schumaker

Here are two of what I am planning on donating, with another one or two to follow (I had these etched up and finished before everyone decided on the logo to use yesterday, oh well....).

So far its a Singularity Reverb (PT2399 Reverb) and Scorpion Overdrive (a take on the Honeybee OD).  I'm also finishing up an Onyx OD (similar to a Black '65), and probably one of my 1590A Klons
