Power Jack works, battery doesn't

I'm working on a Zombii and I was able to get it to work with no button with a battery, so I know the circuit itself works. Then I put the button on, still no problem. Finally, I put the power jack on and now the battery doesn't work! Nearest I can tell I have everything wired properly but obviously that's not the case. I was hoping somebody had any ideas.

The lug on top is the center pin

The negative from the battery broke off of the center lug when I brought it home from my friend's place, so it's just taped for now
