Thanks that's brilliant. What LDRs and LEDs did you use? Are the ones on the board just wrapped in heat shrink?

1M / 10K all round with super brite red LEDs iirc

Yeah just shrink wrapped.

Hey, what are you using for the VR on that Sea Urchin?  My LM7805 is frickin huge compared to what you've got in there....

yeah 78L05 to-92 package.
Ive got a bunch if you just want one.

Haha, thanks for the help fellas.  Appreciate the offer, but I've gotta make a SmallBear order this week anyway, and it looks like they have a 78L05 that will work!

Out of question: the one I have looks to have the same output voltage, but it's rated at 1A instead of .1A.  Will that work, or will it blow something up?

It will work, i have to admit to doing exactly the same thing when i built a one chip chorus.
Check the pin outs to be safe though
