Metalic waterslide/pedal decals?

Hey all! I had a quick question that I have NOT been able to find anywhere else on the internet. I have this project here and I have a cool idea, but no way of executing it.

I want to try and print off/make a decal with metalic gold/shimmer paint/ink/material, but I have zero idea how you would do that. I don't have a thermal printer, so that idea is out of the question. It's a rather complicated pattern that I would prefer to print out. How do other builders get that gold-leaf like ink onto pedals?

I tried these with mixed results. Some turned out perfect and some didn't. Then again I don't have laminator and I used an iron instead. I am going to say it was user error on my part.
