I want to put two sets of clippers on one switch similar to the example for the sunking (http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=1107.0),  but only using using one switch (2 clippers- 1N914 & LED)    I'm not sure how to wire it though.

1) Do I wire anode pad of D1--switch-- anode pad of D2? Or just put switch on D1 and jumper D2?

2) Do I wire the two clippers to each pole like ->-->-  or  ->--<-.

Thanks!

I think you can just connect the anode and cathode of D1 to a DPDT switch, do NOT jumper D2, and wire each pair of diodes across the poles on each end of your switch, the members of each pair aligned opposite each other.  You can solder them directly to the switch, or you can use a daughter board like the ones they sell at GuitarPCB.

First off, here's a great article on how switches work if you haven't seen it yet: http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/Switches/.

Second up, if you want to switch between two different clipping diode types, You can easily do it like I did here: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=2799.0 (second one down).

To do that with a Gliterrati, just connect one pad of D1 to one middle lug, then the other pad to the other middle lug. Next, take one type of clipping diode (silicon) and then connect them back to back on one side of the switch, meaning that you connect each of the diodes across the switch lugs, with one diode with the stripe on one side, and the other stripe on the other side. In other words, they're going the opposite direction from each other. Then use the other kind of diode on the other side. DON'T connect them end to end, rather them so that they're side by side, so that each lug of the switch has two diode legs in it. Does that make sense?

Wiring the diodes to the switch makes sense, it's wiring the switch to the board that's tripping me up.  When you say...

Are you meaning both pads on D1? ...or one pad of D1 and one pad of D2?  Does it matter which pad I use (aka square or round?)

Thanks!

Both pads if D1, it doesn't matter which one goes to what middle lug, as long as one D1 pad goes to a middle lug and the other D1 pad goes to the other.
