Is this pedal meant to have a fuzziness feel to it? I made it for a guy and he said it sounded like a bad fuzz.

Sounds like a normal fuzz to me.

I dont think its supposed to sound that spatty. In the clip it sounds a bit like a velcro fuzz.

maybe down to the poor choice of Germaniums, i had no 2N1306, I just used some randoms.

Yeah sounds highly possible. Plus the 5457 and IC, if bad/fake/from Tayda, could be part of the problem too.
