Posting this because I know little about it spec wise (check the specs vs LM741) and thought it would make for an interesting conversation. 

I'm obviously not going to be 'firing up the solder iron' for one of these any time soon, don't sneeze!

less than 23 cents a pop, assuming you buy a whole reel.

And TI seems to suggest the following:

I was thinking that too. 

I would seriously buy a populated Kilobuffer board for the shear artistic value if it ever became a reality. Plus, it would be worth it to see if any people in the production chain figure out what you are up to.
