Hi all, I've built a couple of KOTs from Sabro's perf layout and the first two were/are fantastic, I'm just finished my 3rd and I have a POP that I just can't fix.

I've been driving myself nuts, short answer is I have a ton of leaky to very leaky 1uF electrolytics, messing around I realized that eliminating the output cap(s)-1uF right before out completely eliminates pop and the pedal works just fine.

So my question now is; I know they're not there for the fun of it so what am I risking/missing potentially not having them in the circuit.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not certain, but I think in most cases they are to filter out noise and high frequencies that can cause noise.

It appears you need to get some new caps. Those are are giving you lots of problems.
I build, and once in a while I might sell, pedals as "Vertigo Effects".

Interesting, I encountered  that problem a couple of times, but never thought of bypassing or replacing the output cap to see if it was better... Thanks for the tip!
