Wired DC jack question

So I'm testing the Alpha Dog, and I evidently don't know how the DC jack is wired. If I plug in the power, the LED lights up when I depress the switch. But when I plug into the input jack, the LED cuts out. I'm missing something...

Did you get the grounding right?  On pages 5-7 of madbean's vfe switching doc, there is a discussion on how to make sure everything is grounded properly.  If you got that, send some pictures.

Thanks for the reminder. I went back and looked at that, and sort of kludged it cause I couldn't figure out exactly how to use the Madbean technique with the locknut.
