i worked in a major chain grocery store in 1975, all that was ever piped in was Musak, insipid wallpaper music with zero redeeming qualities. Unless you had a night shift then it became the intolerable music of an older generation, musical wasteland on all counts.

Haha. It's not like grocery stores play great music nowadays. You know there are some stellar musicians playing those nondescript arrangements so that they can earn a paycheck for a genre people are either ignoring or hating.

I was in one a year or two ago when a Black Sabbath came on. Some indy places i've looked forwards to hearing what they may be playing during my next visit.

Overall as long as they're not playing latter day 'pop' it's going to be better then and more diverse than back in the day.

All men are the heroes of their own stories. Most fathers try to do right by their own sons, by their own beliefs.

Maybe this strikes me because my own father was adopted. The adopted son, he knows his new father loves him because he chose him, but his son in turn has that much more uncertainty, as he never knew the adopted grandfather that well...
