Earth's "Raiford (The Felon Wind)" from _Hex: Or Printing In The Infernal Method_ makes me think of a remote house in the mountainous part of Colorado, a lodge type house, during winter, with power, but no phone. The sky is overcast and thunderous, but not raining.

Don't get out much to see many bands these days, but went and saw Dead Letter Circus, & 1/2 of the members of a now defunct The Butterfly Effect (acoustic set) last night. Had the latter cranking through the outdoor stereo while I was barbecueing dinner. Great local talent.

Apart from that, Parkway Drive is getting a cranking at work.

I was listening to the two Caspian live albums over and over yesterday. Such great performers. I very much recommend this band to everyone, especially those of you that are into postrock. And if you already know the band, get the "Live at larcom" Blu-Ray. Fantastic.

I genuinely hated the album version of this song when it came out.  Saw them do it live, whole different story.  This version with Myles is fantastic.  Would have loved if Mark had come in for a long melodic solo.

And quite possibly the most beautiful heavy song in a long, long time.

TL:DR, but I'm really digging Babymetal.  The singing makes me smile and the metal is tight, well produced, and extremely well played. Can't ask for much more than that.

They make no pretence that it's not manufactured, and in many ways it reminds me of the Russian YoYo Team from an old episode of The Simpsons...
