These guys are an amazing and very influential band from my hometown Dayton Ohio. Everyone knows Dayton for the Wright brothers, Guided by Voices and The Breeders but Brainiac is really a hidden gem. I used to go see them every chance I got. It's a pretty tragic story unfortunately and I think it'll make a great documentary if it gets made.

It would also help to raise the profile of a really great band.

I'm so stoked for this. Brainiac's been one of my favorites for ages. Them and DEVO are my soundtrack when I'm building. I also blame them for my obsession with guitar synths and ring mods

I was lucky enough to see them open for the Jesus Lizard in 1996 or 1997. They were awesome, and unfortunately that was not long before the tragic event. I will definitely check this out.

It is completely uncanny that this thread popped up today of all days.

The Brainiac doc is making it's world premiere today at South by Southwest! Can't wait to see it.

I'm thinking about buying a set of edrums and learning how to be a decent drummer next year, perhaps this will provide some inspiration/ motivation.
