The most Jam-packed PCB

I had the opportunity to play around with an MXR Carbon Copy today, a personal favorite in the realm of analog delays, and afterwards I had the opportunity to unbox the thing and take a look at its guts

Holy hell... this thing is crazy crowded. 12 trimmers?!?! The thing is mostly SMD save for the BBDs and a few electrolytics, and fits a ~1590B sized with a battery. There is barely a spare millimeter to be found. 




And it made me curious. What is the most insanely densely populate board you've come across?

That's a tight one.  I've had the pleasure  of repairing a few.  The interesting thing is that those TH parts would all have to be manually soldered by a person.  There isn't enough clearance from the SMD components for wave soldering the TH pins.

We are doing and envelope filter, but that's not it.

The envelope filter will be coming out shortly...assuming no disasters in the next week or so.
