So is anyone using smd mn3007 IC's

Well there's definitely a huge price difference, but I'm curious if
They work the same as regular mn3007 chips. I'm not real thrilled
With soldering those tiny leads, but I will if they work the same!

I've never seen a BBD in surface mount. If I could find them I wouldn't mind using them I suppose...

I'm gonna guess that the OP is basing his assumptions on the cost difference between other SMD components and their DIP counterparts (i.e. CD4047, CD4013, etc.) Assuming that if there were smd MN3007s that they would be cheaper.

Well, at least you didnt buy them, and adapters, and install them in a circuit!
I build, and once in a while I might sell, pedals as "Vertigo Effects".

You know, that chip might make a decent voltage controlled resistor with a high frequency input ...

Are you thinking, like, using a variable PWM to turn the MosFET off and on fast enough to simulate a resistor?

Yah, like Freppo did with his phaser. Though the 4006 probably hard to beat on that count, especially since it has 4 switches on the chip. Might make for a cool tremolo, though.

I saw these a while back and was really excited too, until I read the data sheet :(
