while they really look good, I kind of don't like the idea of having no visual feedback while my foot is hiding the LED at the moment of switching
but it might not be that big of a deal

Mount one into the top of your shoe?

I'm just getting around to checking mine out. They seem to be of good quality upon first inspection. They do have a chinese character on the side, not that it means anything, but they appear to be made in china. I'm not sure how I feel about the pre installed LED wire leads. They arent long enough to reach a 3pdt board or the solder lugs of the switch, so you have to replace or extend them.

Overall, though, it looks fine. I like the pics of your installation, gordo!

Working on a build with one of these now... I'm noticing right off that the threads are most likely not long enough for an enclosure with envirotex. As they are, they barely have enough to tighten with a bare enclosure.

Hey, gordo, did you use envirotex, or a clear coat?

Clear coat, but I'd bet you could pour with the ring in place and it would blend right it.  Maybe even create a halo in the envirotex.
