Okay, I kinda fixed it.

Got rid of the 100k pot, put in a 50k pot instead, but with 24k resistors on the one and three lug.  So I still get my 100k resistance but I have a smaller sweep, thus eliminating the whine deadspot at one end.  Granted, my sweep is now half as much.
