First noob project... switches!

I thought I should start out with something pretty basic before I dive right in. I play bass and guitar in a band and I recently built a new pedal board to house both effects. I wanted to utilize my Shift Line Astronaut reverb pedal for both and switch between the signal paths.  Here's what i came up with... green: guitar, red:bass

Did you use a 3PDT switch or 2PDTs? with a 3PDT you could actually do it in just one box with one switch. would save place on the board... If you're interested, I can draw out a wiring scheme for you.

LOL unfortunately no. I didn't even know about the GAS club until you mentioned it, let alone understand or speak russian.  I bought this from Shift Line themselves, just sent them an email.

I've been playing with the pedal for about 2 weeks now and I'm still getting used to it. It can make some really incredible atmospheric sounds that I've never quite heard anywhere else, especially out of just one pedal. You hardly have to increase the level and mix at all in order for the swells to get carried away. In bypass mode, its still allowing the signal to affect the current setting, but not affecting the sound. So, when you switch it on the effect is applied to whatever you were just playing, like a trails effect. Its hard to imagine a scenario where you would want this, I haven't found it yet. It definitely requires some creative thinking to apply it to real-life uses!

Cool, thanks! I guess I don't really understand how this would work to use the same pedal through two different instruments going through their respective amps though.

Hmm. just to be clear. You want to use the same pedal (reverb) for EITHER bass or guitar without unplugging stuff? than this would work.

But you can only use your effects chain for the instrument that you put the switch on. So let's say you want to use it on bass, than your guitar signal is killed at this box; you'll be only able to play bass. Unless you have a two-neck, I guess that's ok...
