I don't know what this guy is doing for living, but I better hope he's a carpenter or something. Damn, this is impressive. Creative, innovative and really classy. Just amazing. Make sure to watch some of the prologue-making-of videos.

Hard to find words for how amazing this is. And a Hoffner bass? Too cool.

I watched every second of it - i like the fact that it is programmable as well i hope he makes more songs out of it

There's a video on Youtube of a full size, complete Difference Engine, in operation, with a man at the end running the crank handle. It kinda reminded me of that -- the Difference Engine was constantly going CLACK CLACK, but with no real melody to it.

Wow! Anybody know where to find build docs for this?

the fact that the video had 500k yesterday night at 23:00 and now has 2.7 million speaks for itself.
I like how he doesn't seem to have a big plan for the machine, but rather just builds one thing after the other as he progresses. Really impressive.

The conception and building of it are impressive enough, but he must have rehearsed like crazy to perform that. It looked in the description like he will be performing live. Blue Man Group? Don't remember them.

Wintergatan is a four-piece group from sweden as it seems. Check out a few of their other videos, they've got a few really cool/weird instruments in their repertoire

Right about the time that I pull out my old-man soap box to bitch about the lack of creativity in the industry I see this.  Crazy clever and a cool tune to boot.

There's a 2 part "How It Works" for this. I highly recommend watching both. This is so inspiring to me. The dude is just a super talented, humble genius. I was surprised to see that he didn't CNC cut the gears, but did them on a band saw! Much respect.

EDIT: OK, there's a whole pile of videos documenting the building of this thing.

Pedal building is like the opposite of sex.  All the fun stuff happens before you get in the box.
