Signal splitter or not..

..i need to split the audio signal coming from Soulfood to redirect to a delay pedal..should i need a buffer/splitter to do that or is it ok if i just put a Y adapter from the Soulfood output jack and tap from it?..knowing a klon clone has a good input buffer, will just tapping from the output without a buffer/splitter a good idea?..or maybe it 's a good idea to tap signal from the soulfood input buffer?...tnx in advance, guys.
