Hey, it's a build report on a project I'm not going to do! Wheee!

I worked on this one last year and just kind of forgot about it until pickdropper started prodding me to box it up and send to him. So, I did! The Glasshole is tap tempo phaser based on the Mutron and uses the TAPLFO chip. It has a 6/8 stage switch plus an optional secondary optical output to drive another modulation effect. Overall, this thing sounds pretty great. I was more impressed with it once I boxed it up then when I initially tested it last year. You can get fairly standard phaser sounds as well as some wacky time shift stuff and even hints of an envelope based filter type sound. While I don;t think this will be an MBP project since someone else is already doing a similar thing, I probably will release the other project I proto'd at the same time, the Tapanatorator. That one is just the LFO and tap tempo controls with up to four independent outputs. So, you could build a trem, phaser, vibrato, etc and have them all sync to one tap tempo controller.

Here's the goods:

Whoops I just noticed my cropping on the left side of the image was not ideal!

looks very good, Brian. I think the tapanatorator sounds like a cool gadget too!

Very cool indeed. Love the placement of the build doc in the first pick. The knob placement is also insane.

The layout kicks ass, and the finish is really cool. It's fun to see some different pot arrangement from time to time.

Can't wait for that Tapanatorator
