Ok, I know this probably a stupid question. But here goes. I built the current lover with the 3007 bbd. As I read from alot of other people, I to had some undesirable distortion with it. I have a 3prr, and wanted to wire it up. My question is this. The 3prr calls for the 78l15 regulator. Is there a different regulator I van use, as I can't find one without making a special single item order to mouser or something like that. Thanx in advance guys.

You could use a 7815, without the L. It will be larger and might take some doing to get in. The purpose of both the 7815 and 78L15 is to regulate the 18V from the chip down to a stable 15V. You could also try an LM317, which allows you to set the voltage output, but you'll need a few more components to make it work. Check out the data sheet.

The difference between the L and not L version is that the L can put out ~100mA whip the non L can do almost 1A.
