Hi all,

I'm a perennial lurker on the board and read as much as I can prior and after builds to try and resolve any issues. But with the Aquaboy being complex I could do with a hand on the diode config.

I'm building with MN3005s and MN3101 cock. NE570 commander and VTL5C3 vactrol. 15v operation through a Road Rage supplied with 9v (LT1054 on board). I'm following the other instructions (sockets, jumpers and correct resistor values) considering these part choices.

Question: given the approach above do I omit all 3 diodes? From reading up it seems that I should.

Seems like I've read the build doc loads but just wanted to check!!

Many thanks for any pointers,
Jeremy

If you are using any MN30xx BBD chip you must omit D3.
Now regarding the PSU since you are going on 15v you must also leave off D2 (8.2v zener).
Now regarding Brian's document you should leave off D1 and you should put a 1n5817 into R58.
With this replacement 1n5817 is for polarity protection.

Cheers,
Panos.

Thanks Panos, that's a great help.

Think R58 was causing me the headache!

Sounds like there are two approaches: jumper R58 and leave D1 in place or put a 1N5817 in R58 and remove D1?

Cheers!

Yeap you can choose between those two ways for polarity protection.
If I remember correct on my built I didn't have any issues with R58.
I suggest to eliminate any future problems do what Brian suggests.

Cheers,
Panos.

Thanks again Panos much appreciated!!
