Hello !
I am looking for a "special" enclosure. Just a simple enclosure like this one :



But a lot smaller
Like almost the size of a 1590B... Just a small slopped enclosure
Do you know if I have a chance to find this somewhere ?

Mac Walker makes a wedge enclosure he sells over on DIYstompboxes.com, but it's slightly larger than a 125B for all dimensions.

I've never seen a manufactured sloped enclosure smaller than that, but there is a thread around here somewhere where someone chopped a 125B down into a wedge shape.  I suppose you could do it with a 1590B, but at a certain point you're running out of room for your 3PDT lugs.

Hum I found the chopped enclosure :


But actually I would like to have a flat + a flopped surface because I would like to 3D print a kind of lid.
In order to make a SUPER FUZZ, but at a reasonable size, and with the cool lid to activate it.
I am not sure to be super clear, so I drawed an image



In blue is the enclosure (+ knobs) and in red the 3D print (or another technique) lid to activate the pedal. (with a 3PDT under the lid or something like boss pedals)

Champagne region is nice area, you should visit them asap

The enclosure seems really nice, I have to make a small cardboard model to see what size it is, but maybe it will do the job !

Mac's wedges are really nice but much bigger then a 1590b, ~1"/(25.4mm) longer and ~3/4" wider and taller at the tall end, just slightly smaller then a 1590J. He may be sold out again as well.

Mike (haveyouseenhim) chopped a 1590A but he had to come up with a switch to work in the shallow end, nothing off the shelf.

For a shallow switching scheme might try something like the Geofex pancake switch.

This is a good idea ! I have to go in the detail a bit.
I will receive microswitches soon (momentary...), so hopefully I can try to adapt it to a standard 1590B enclosure (or 125B)

However I am not very confident with the reliability of microswitches... But that could be a good idea

I already thought of a way to make the rubber pad, using engraved rubber people use for inkstamps

I tried a piece of mouse pad and it takes a good bit of force to get the switch to actuate. As far as switch life, the Panasonics i bought are rated at 2M cycles minimum, as long as you've got it set up properly and it's not going to be physically crushed, should last forever.

Do you have any pictures of your build with this kind of switching system?

I was wondering about the height of such a system...

I only ever got around to prototyping so haven't a completed project, have a project sitting there ready to accept it, on the todo list. Total height, just measured and took some pictures but need my computer... total switch height is between 11 & 12mm, that's two layers of 3mm acrylic, 3mm mouse pad, 1.5mm aluminum plate and a ~0.35mm pcb. Geofex has the switch glued to the top of the enclosure, i was making it on the aluminum plate and attaching the plate to the enclosure with screws on the inside under the plate. Used a Geofex latch circuit in conjunction with mictesters relay switching circuit to do the bypassing.

... and if i recall correctly the LED and switched relay state were not always in sync at power up.

Finally I decided to go for the switching system with a pad.

I just saw this picture of the original superfuzz:


We can see that there is a typical 2PDT switch, but it is just a bit deeper in the enclosure.
So I thought of this system:


Do you think it can be thiner, and do you thing it can work ?
