Moodring dwell control - what does it do?

Hi all

I've build the moodring reverb and it sounds great, the only problem I have is that the Dwell control does not seem to do anything except when you turn it above say 3 o'clock it goes into a sort of self oscillation (even in the buffered bypass mode). The document says that Dwell sets "The amount of reverb fed back into the predelay/reverb section." Well I have no idea what that sounds like.. :) Anyone care to explain what the dwell control does in terms of sound?

Also does it depend on the setting of the internal trimmer? I've turned it practically all the way down since there is loads of reverb anyway and as you turn it up the hiss increases..

thanks!

What you describe is exactly what it does. But, listen just a bit closer on some of the lower settings. If the reverb is set high enough the dwell control will "wash it out" a bit before it goes into self-oscillation.

Anyway, take a look at the youTube video which shows the Dwell in action.
