Never learned how to breadboard. I just finished my Beavis Board and I am really looking forward to truly learning how circuits work. This will cut away from my project build time, but my dream is to build my own circuit.   :)

Man this is like confessional and I'm a bit scared to step in the booth but here it goes:

I've never:

1. had a successful troubleshoot where the issue was on the PCB itself. My box of fail is basically the garbage can! ::)

2. used anything but a 25 watt radio shack soldering iron (or other off brand ghetto equivalent) for building guitar pedals.  I'm about to pull the trigger on a Hakko but I'm apprehensive to leave my comfort zone.

3. quality checked the values of my resistors until about a 2 weeks ago!

4. built a flanger (my least favorite effect) and just built my first 2 compressors (Vero Bear Hug and a JMK Engineers Thumb) that need to be boxed.

5. built anything bigger than a 2-in-1

6. Used a pedal in a studio recording. To be honest, I haven't done any studio work in a long time and I wasn't really into pedals back in the day, but still...

7. built a guitar amp.  If only I could stop building pedals maybe I could set aside the money to knock this off the bucket list.  Or maybe I'll just build a couple hundred of those too!

8. liked a guitar pedal (other than a cry baby) I purchased for more than a month or two!  The board I use to gig is 100% diy other than my boss TU-2 tuner.  To me it just feels better to use something I made. If I could afford a timeline I may change my tune though...

I never planned to be some sort of commercial builder or become a PCB flogger, true story.

Dad: "son, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

Son: "When I grow up, I want to be a commercial guitar pedal builder and PCB flogger!"

I'm quite certain these words never have or will be uttered...  :P

Never built a PRETTY pedal (that didn't involve buying an already pretty enclosure.) So never done any good artwork on my own.

Yep, this.

I've never ordered parts from Tayda, nor do I intend to.

I've never built a big muff...

I have an ultra stoner on the board being populated....

I've never built a fuzz that worked for me, sound-wise.  I keep wanting to like fuzz, and some sound cool on their own, but as soon as the band starts up, it just doesn't work for me, back to the ODs and boosts.

Never etched anything, boards or enclosures; I'd like to do enclosures 'cause it's often too humid or rainy to spray paint in Seattle, but I'm so into vero that I don't know if I'll ever etch a board.

Where's the list for things we have accomplished as a DIYer that we thought we wouldn't?  I had my musical hero test out a pedal that I built.  I'll never forget it, that felt like winning the build contest right there.  Some of the builds I'm really proud of have ended up on stages on the boards of friends, that's pretty cool.

As a DIY'er? Getting ANY kind of synth built, let alone what I've managed. I thought I wouldn't get even the likes of a MFOS Weird Noise thingy going!

Welcome to the club!

Those actually have all the components soldered, but I've only boxed the rub-a-dub since....

I've never found that I'm missing one part and ordered just that part. At minimum, a 3 cent part will set me back $20.
