Powered Breadboard

For those of you who are big breadboarders, Circuit Specialists have a pretty nice looking powered breadboard for $89 right now...

I don't have any experience with it, but I have one of their digital soldering stations and it was the best investment I made, and only cost I think $35 at the time, and came with a free DMM.

That is a pretty neat concept.  I can see why some would use it.

IMO would feel money would be better spent on a more robust, fully adjustable power supply and separate breadboard.  I got a regulated bench power supply for about $60.  Plus with a separate power supply and separate breadboard(s), you can have multiple projects going at the same time - simply swap breadboarded projects.  A regular breadboard will be less tall than this as well.  Can't beat having a fully adjustable, regulated, separate bench power supply!

If you had really limited space and were not planning on using the PS for other projects often I can see where this would be a nice, self contained solution.

Yeah I assumed most of the real busy folks have a nice benchtop psu. This looked nice for occasioned that wants an all on one package. Just thought it was pretty cool.

I picked up a small bench supply from them for $49. Very useful! Shows how much voltage and how much current is being drawn..good for trouble shooting.  Adjustable from 0-24 v so covers pedal building. Also if you add a regular breadboard setup $25 your still at less than the powered breadboard. I highly recommend their stuff.. Also bought a a701 through hole set up with a great soldering iron and de-soldering gun.. Not industrial grade but reliable and budget friendly..

I like the powered breadboards too. Stared at that very one for a while!
