(HIFI) speaker selector/switch with sep. volume ctrl

Hi all

I thought this should be an easy task to google, but i am failing so far.

I wanna build a selector/switch for a common "home stereo" music system with just one pair of speaker outputs, to adress two pairs of speakers with separate volume controls. Pretty much exactly what shows on this page (though a bit simpler as i only need two outputs):

it can't be too hard huh? Just two on/off switches, two stereo pots and a few resistors i guess. but i dont find "the" suitable schematic with correct values.

Any ideas?

You'll need rheostats (auto-transformer type) or L-pads (resistive type) to maintain constant load to the amp. Yeah, should be as simple as a couple of switches and a couple of pads. Parts Express here in the states carries them. Don't know what's available where you are.

Alternately, you could just buy the one from Monoprice for $50 and call it a day.

Right. If one component costs $25 or there about, the monoprice way seems like the right way.
