Retrograde squel and hiss

I see that this is an old post from almost 4 years ago but I just finished this build for the second time and am now getting this problem when I had no issues with the first build. Has there been any kind of solution found for this? Tried adding the 100r and it made the problem more apparent than it was without - but this seems to be the finding everyone else has had as well. Any word on a fix?

I just built mine and its doing the same thing as what everyone else is describing.  Gonna get my audio probe out and figure it out.  Voltages anyone?
