Whoa. Rej did a decal! :D

I love the look of the old handdrawn PCB traces. You could even put it on the outside of a case and people wouldn't guess it was the circuitboard at first.

A decal?  Whaaaaaaat is this madness?

Yeah, the hand drawn PCB traces are fun on that one.  The ground planes look like tribal tattoos as well.

Great build, Rej.  Love the knoblessness.

Thanks guys! The only way i'll ever have decals on my DIY builds is if someone does it for me!  ;D

Definitly should and for once it ain't a switch, TB looper or whatever... it actually makes a sound! :o

So this was a group build, in effect? :)

I don't recall the details of the PSU for this one, does it run off 12VAC at the socket?

At first it was'nt a group built but once you start thinking of who took part of it... it is! One of the nicest thing of this hobby... through small parts and envellopes in mail you end with something beautiful to play around with :)

The PSU is based around a DC/DC Converter brick, +12V/-12V for this one, getting it's supply from your regular 9V.

Knobs? Knobs?! We don't need no stinking KNOBS!!! That looks incredible through and through. The PS-1 is the standard by which all phasers continue to be judged. Even the Mu-tron Bi-phase is said to have been designed around the sound of the PS-1.
Great work!

I could really beleive that, this thing sounds awesome, the filtering of each and how it cycles through it's stages is something i had'nt heard before... the slow speed is the nicest i've ever heard, once you start fettling with the footswitches while playing, the ramping gets you in the leslie range... but with a Phaser voice... much awesomeness!

Epic, Rej .... Epic. That's one of the special ones.
Actually, I just did my first decal - and I like it. Prolly gonna do more that way.

man that came out great, and no knobs is so 2015!! The PCB traces are really cool, you could make a great looking decal just from that (the one you have looks excellent BTW). Cigars everyone!

Fantastic build Rej! I think I would have guessed who did that enclosure if you hadn't said. What a team!
...and then of course I've got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left hand side...

Did someone mention ramping?! This thing ramps between speeds? Is it possible?! Why haven't I build it yet?! How can I get the board and the build doc? Would any of you fine gentlemen help me out to get started?

Just listened some clips on youtube, I am amazed. I remember juan's builds like I've seen em yesterday but I haven't dabbled much into the build nor the sounds. My god, it sounds great, and the ramping is something I LOVE.

Is there a schematic for this?

Yep, shoot me your email in a PM, i'll forward you the info we've got.

Also, since i build it and way before i did... by listening to Juan's clip, clips of the original on youtube... ...we've been discussing in a random way (Juan and I) of how to make this thing really DIY friendly...  ...that work is now transfered between Jason (Jubal81) and I for the completion of this... couple mods and improvements will be part of the overall design... but the main goal is to preserve the authenticity of this particular sound.

Stay tuned!

That's just beautiful, inside and out.  I remember the original but had forgotten that it ramped.  I had this major flashback to working at Gordie Brandt's Music in Saskatoon and we had one of those and a Mutron III.  In 1975-ish I remember thinking "who would want this old crap when you can get a Phase 90 or a Small Stone?"  Keep us posted on this one.  This might drive me back to etching a board just to get those cool curves.

The other day i almost bought an original unit from Reverb... was coming with the original optional footcontroller aswell, the price was'nt too bad but i just could'nt at the moment.... It's definitly the ramping and overall Leslie vibe that this thing got that makes it so charming. Lucky you that you've used a real one back in the days! :)
