Hello, I have a switch that is dpdt and is on/on/on.
The use I want to give it is switch between a 10uf capacitor, a 1uf capacitor, and no capacitor but still having the trace linked. is it possible with this switch?

luks999

you mean a toggle switch right? what do you mean with trace? (the wire?)

i think it should be possible, if all "on" positions work seperately and you just dont connect wires to the third "on" position.

with this one, your case should work:

Not that one. I have an on/on/on. There must be signal going through the part of the circuit. When there's no CAP, there should be a wire.

luks999

you have something right this?
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/SWM23-17/Double-Pole-ONONON-Mini-Toggle-Switch-w-Bat-Handle-Chrome.html

there you see the internal connection (theres a nice image)

so what you want to do should be possible without problems!

if im not wrong this should work out for you :)

this one enables:
-) c1
-) c2
-) direct connection

I'm not sure with an on on on it would work like that. That would be the standard on/on, right?

luks999

an on-on works only for 2 positions

that wiring should be correct, since the switching in the middle position is different (thats the wire across the switch)

so here how the switch works, i think my wiring should do what you wanna do

luks999

you have to measure first, which pins connect when the switch is in the middle position ;)
these two have to be connected with a straight wire ;)
