Hi guys I am building sunking 2 and deadringer 2 and both of them have BS250 transistor. I bought only two of BS250 and I don't want to burn them, so how can I check pinout of them with a multimeter?
Thanks
Brane

Scruffie

Just check the datasheet, it'll show the pinout.
Works at Lectric-FX

I've red few of them, but these look differently. They don't have classical D shape, and marking is on the opposite side of what I am use to (EBC and DGS transistors).

Can't download a datasheet from your supplier? Is there a manufacturer's identifier?

If my photos are missing again... they're hosted by photobucket... and as of 06/2017 being held hostage... to be continued?

Unfortunately they don't support datasheet on their website..

The pinout they show looks to match the pinout on Brian's build documents for those two pedals.

As to how to identify Mosfet pinouts with a DMM i did find an explanation by R.G. Keen at diystompboxes but my foggy brain is not allowing me to process the info at present.

Edit; duh, forgot this.  http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=76438.0

I will try as it is shown on the layout.. If it burns I know what to do :D
Thanks for help

R.G. says: ''For MOSFETs. The gate never conducts to any of the other pins. The substrate diode conducts the reverse direction of the channel, so for an N-channel, the substrate diode conducts with anode to source, cathode to drain.''
Is this valid for P-channel? or it is opposite?
I've tested BS170 and it is correct pinout like in the datasheet. Also it gives me same pinout for BS250, so this should be ok?
