lofo mofo diode

hi, i just got interested by this crappy fx, i got all to build it

but i dont have the shoktty diode, but as i see its used as a signal diode, i have a bat41 and some germanium over here, maybe those will be ok, but im not sou sere, other thing i see its that the layout image doesnt show the diode polarity, can it be putted the way i want, and not affect signal??

In that layout, the anode points up, cathode down.  The cathode goes to the square pad.

Where abouts are you? I've got a bunch of the diodes from the ones I've built and don't mind sending you some for it. Awesome effect, I love mine! Great for the opening riff of I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness!

i live in Honduras, have you tried a different diode?? maybe a 1n34, or 1n60p??, as there its no schematic i cant tell to much of the fx
