Mic Preamps

I've been meaning to build this little project since I saved it a while back but I haven't yet. Oh, now that looks interesting. Prices have gone up though. The IC is $6.77 at Mouser now. I think that might tip the equation back in favor of the $1500 pre .

On the serious side, that does call for a test. A clean power supply and getting the phantom power will be interesting, but it's all going to be completely doable for not much money.
