Zombii Q2 and Q3

I just ordered all my parts for a Zombii build and couldn't find Q2 (GE PNP 70Hfe) and Q3 (GE PNP 110Hfe) anywhere.  Where are you guys getting those?

Get the fuzz face set from Small Bear electronics. Caps N Such can help you out as well, way cheaper solution.

I've built a pair of them so far, and just used the least expensive pair from smallbear. They work great, though if you plan on putting them in a b sized enclosure they are tall, and a 3pdt might not work if you want to use a battery too. Just takes some planning.

So I ordered a Fuzz Face package of Germaniums from Small Bear.  They're marked "101 L=89" and "157 L=148".  They also sent me four resistors.  They're marked R3=80K, R4=680M, R5=11K, R6=120K. 

To get the true Zombii (Fuzz Factory) sound, do I just build the circuit using the Mad Bean values for the resistors or do I need to sub in the resistors sent to me by Small Bear some how?

 Yeah, for the closest sound to the real fuzz factory, you probably wanna use the resistor values in the madbean documentaion. The values they supply you w/ were probably for a regular fuzz face...

Okay...so I built the circuit tonight and I "rocked it". It's still unboxed.  Immediately, upon turning the volume up on the circuit, it's squalling some feedback.  When I hit a note it stops but as soon as I mute the note it immediately starts feeding back again.  It seems to be a lot less controllable feedback than the demos I've seen of the Fuzz Factory.  Could it have anything to do with the germanium values being so far off ("101 L=89" and "157 L=148")?

Means you need to play with pots a bit. One of them needs to be turned up not down.

it'd be the "stab" pot, which is short for "stability"

Ha...yeah...I figured that out after I made the post.  I hooked it up an giggled each knob but I didn't sweep through the whole range of the pot.  The "Stab" knob is the culprit.  This is a crazy circuit.

How much does the value of the germaniums effect the sound?
