A coworker's uncle died and left him all his hi-fi equipment and I scored a free TEAC 4010S Reel-to-reel. He was going to give the whole lot for $50 - including a Marantz amp and some other stuff and I had to have a conscience and tell him that stuff is worth a good chunk of money. I think he said he got $700. I got the R2R, though.

Amazingly enough, I found a video of a guy using this exact model for a guitar delay.  8)

I don't want to spend a ton getting it going since it's a novelty, so I'm wondering if I could just hack a Zero Point Micro to run its loop through the R2R instead of the PT2399.

Wow, that was a great deal! Can't wait to hear/see the hacking...

There was a project in FSB (I think it came from a magazine) that hacks a pair of cassette recordings to build a guitar Echo, maybe it can help you with this.

I build stuff for myself, sometimes I do 1 offs, I label them as HornBlende Audio.

Nice, that's a fun project to work on.

I know that DanZink on BYOC did that cassette deck delay and turned out very good.

Gotta make a stomp to sub out the desk he's using, so it's an effect. Then you can stand it behind you and pretend to be Richie Blackmore.

5mins on gets some good reel-to-reel action. But worth listening from the beginning, because f**king Rainbow ;) (even though this is a Purple track).
