Pedaltrain Pro & VooDoo Digital

I am looking at pulling the trigger on a new PedalTrain Pro and I was thinking of getting a power supply so I can retire the One-Spot from my primary board. My question is, I can't afford to get two or three power sources for my board to have one jack per pedal. I was thinking of getting the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Digital since it outputs  400mA for each of the 6 outputs. I thought I could use a daisy chain to group some pedals together. Would this just put me in the same boat as using the One-Spot or would this be a better solution?

I only want to spend about $300 on the board and power since I am not paying out right now and its more for a larger board for more effects and my Epic Looper.

Thoughts?

This guy is charging 250 for the pro, the soft case, AND the power plus 2 which IMO is a good deal if you're looking to spend 300 total. You could flip the power plus 2 for ~120-140ish (that high end is really high but eh you never know. These power supplies go fast on tgp) and then combine the 120-140 with the remaining 50 and buy a cioks 10. It has 2 ports with 400mA and 8 more with varying voltage and millis.

Sorry so long just thought it would help :). Hopefully you jump on this before someone else does.

I use the Pedal Power 2 plus. I don't use digital effects so don't need the power. I use the two high current outputs to daisy chain my tuner, wah, switch and low current fuzzes and distortion. The other outputs I use for more noise sensitive effects like phasers, tremolos and chorus. These are the ones that tend not to play nicely with switched mode power supplies. It's an expensive psu but I don't regret buying it.

I have a Pedaltrain Pro (amongst a pile of other boards) and it somewhat depends on the sheer number of pedals on the board.

My board consists mostly of 125b and 1590bb enclosures and I needed two power supplies.  I have the BBE Supa Power and the MXR MC403 power supply.  I'd recommend checking out the MXR MC403.  It's about $250 and it has a lot of isolated, regulated outputs.  It does have a handful of 18V outputs, which is good if you use a lot of them, not as good if you don't.

I have two of the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Pro supplies for other boards and they are very nice, but I wouldn't be able to make one work on the PT Pro with the number of pedals I have.  I have one on the PT2 and I have to split it more times than I'm happy with.

The Decibel 11 power supplies are a pretty good value.  The equivalent of the VLPP Digital is the same price $139.99, but has 8 taps a 9v/12v pair per transformer, rated at 400mA each.  It would give you an extra daisy chain to work with.  If you get it through Rogue Guitar Shop in Oregon it has free shipping and no tax: http://www.rogueguitarshop.com/collections/power-supply/products/decibel-11-hotstone-hc-isolated-dc-power-supply

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I really want to pickup something that is offered at Sweetwater since I have a couple hundred dollars in credit from them for a wireless mic system that was not available.

The more I read on the "Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Digital" I think this will work out great since i can power both my Strymon Timeline and Big Sky and still have 2 more 9v 400mA jacks to daisy my analog effects. I can segregate my modulation effects together and the rest on another. Anyone see a outright issue with that?

I use the FAME DCT-200
You can find it rebranded under various names

it will run 2 strymons, as it has 2 high power 9v outs
4 other standard 9v outs
2 more 9v that can be tweaked down to 5v

includes 2 x sets of 10 cables (long and short) as well as red coloured ones for distinguising high power effects perhaps? Then also a line 6 style jack (2.5mm end) as well as a polarity reversing cable. Absolutely awesome variety of cabling.

12v DC and 12v AC outputs
all outputs isolated of course

Price in the UK is about £45 delivered. Thats one heck of a bargain. I actually own 3 (!)

edit- even cheaper nowadays !

or just go with the Voodoo Lab 4x4...

+1 on the 4x4, get those extra 4 outputs so you don't have to daisy chain as much, not that there's anything wrong with that. Might as well get the larger one for 50 more bucks...investing in the future right?! Besides, with a PT Pro you're gonna have a ton of space which translates into more pedals

Ok its a done deal. I got the PedalTrain Pro with the soft case and the 3 riser pack and the VooDoo 4X4. This was the best bang for my buck and I only went $50 of my budget but I got the wife's nod of approval.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and thanks Josh for the 4X4 suggestion. This was exactly what I needed.

Hey Ian, thanks for that link about the Fame PSU, might ask to a UK friend to grab one for me and get it shipped in my next box of awesomeness.

Even with the price in US with shipping, it's still very advantageous for me to purchase in UK.

Thanks!
