As mentioned in the 'what have you been up to thread', well I'm back and I've added some pics to my site from the road trip.

Nice tour and even nicer pics. And I can support your approval of traditional austrian dresses. You know why ;) But I say NO to Lederhosen. Those are one of the worst inventions ever...

Leather shorts and braces... How can it possibly go wrong ;)

Nice!

English cars with the steering wheel on the right side, driving on the right side. I imagine that's hard, getting used and all.
When in Scotland we had a rental car, but it took days to get used to left-side traffic, and at least we had the "correct" car.

Fantastic.

I went to Austria a number of years ago.  It's a beautiful country.

Look at all that green!

There's more green in that one picture of the hill than there is from my house to the horizon.

Driving on the right is an issue mainly at junctions and overtaking. That's when you really need someone in the passenger seat to spot for you. I found dipping the car into the middle of the road and if he didn't scream "TRUCK! / CAR! / BIKE!", generally it was clear to go. My biggest issue was going anti-clockwise on roundabouts, which is just wrong.

Booah eyyy!

Great trip.
Looked at your pictures and found a few spots I know.
By the way: Oberammergau is still in Germany :-)
Zell am See is a great place to be.
Which lake in Switzerland (picture at the end) did you stop by? I cant really remember if the picture is Lugano but I think so.

Than you for sharing!

Can't remember the lake name, will ask the guys. I'll also change the text, I had it in my head we'd crossed the border before Oberammagau, must have been after :)

EDIT: It was Lake Brienz

Damn jealous.  Looks like an incredible trip.

Note to self: Make a shit ton of money and retire in Austria...

There were some astonishingly, jaw-droppingly beautiful places. I decided that I need the mountains and a nice lake outside my house. And a Riva to use on the lake...
